Simple and Insightful
This month, we celebrate National Encouragement Day. If you need a few tips on ways to offer support, we’ve got them for you:
– It’s in the Cards – whether you mail them a physical or e-card, getting a note from a friend is always nice and it’s one of the easiest ways to let someone know we care. Texts are good but sometimes lack that personal touch.
– Let Them Know – share a memory of when they made you feel special and encouraged.
– Go For a Walk – a side-by-side activity such as walking creates an opportunity to share without making eye contact and for some people, that’s easier for them to open up. If your friend chooses not to talk about what’s bothering them, that’s okay, too. Sometimes the best encouragement is just being by one’s side.
– Uplift a Stranger – you never know how sharing positive tips, thoughts, memes/quotes and experiences on social media may help someone you’ve never even met.
– Last, but certainly not least – offering a hug is sometimes all the encouragement that’s needed.
Happy National Encouragement Day from Insights.
