It takes a tremendous amount of courage to live with true authenticity. For many of us, it is a trait we must work to recover in an environment and relationship that proves to be trustworthy and patient. When we are given a safe space, free of judgement and filled with encouragement, to explore our true desires and honest emotions, we ultimately find the freedom to be our truest selves and thus position ourselves to experience the most satisfaction. It is my greatest joy to create a place where you can freely breathe and acknowledge and take ownership of the full reality of your own life. In this space, we can discover what is most valuable to you and how you might find meaning and purpose in the chaos of life.
It was through my personal experience with grief that I found my desire for greater purpose in my life. After several years in the consulting and human resources field, I attended Southern Methodist University to focus my knowledge and talents on the universal human experience. Throughout my clinical experience, I have had the privilege to walk alongside individuals wrestling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, anger, and grief. I am continuously impressed by each client’s courage and strength to share these experiences with me. My specific training is focused on trauma, severe and chronic illness, identity issues, addictions, sexuality, and loss.
I am a proud Chicago native, with a gentle Midwestern heart. I moved to Texas to attend Baylor University, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology and graduated right before Chip and Joanna and their HGTV empire made Waco cool. Since graduating, I have lived and worked in the DFW metroplex. When I am not meeting with clients or nerding out over psychotherapy conferences, I enjoy visiting my brothers back in Illinois, running, biking around White Rock Lake with my fiancé, and trying to remember to call my mom.
My rate is $65 for a 50-minute session. Click here to request an appointment.
A quote that resonates with me:"Human freedom involves our capacity to pause between the stimulus and response and, in that pause, to choose the one response toward which we wish to throw out weight. The capacity to create ourselves, based upon this freedom, is inseparable from consciousness or self-awareness." -- Rollo May
