Masters Level Student Intern
Dallas, Texas Therapist Specializing in Play Therapy, Child Therapy, Adolescent Therapy, Young Adult Therapy, Parenting Support
In my work, I have experienced that positive change occurs best when the therapist is able to create an environment of safety, trust, and acceptance. In this space, the client is able to fully be themselves and begin to navigate their own challenges and difficulties. I utilize evidenced-based techniques, specifically Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and client-centered approaches to meet the individual needs of each client and their families. I am passionate about working with children through play therapy and I enjoy working with parents to help them support their children in the therapeutic process. I also love working with teens and young adults, utilizing activities and traditional talk therapy methods to create a supportive and trusting therapeutic relationship. My approach with each client is empathetic, collaborative, and intentional.
My formal education, both undergraduate and graduate, has prepared me to work with children, adolescents, adults, families, and groups. While I work with all ages, I specialize in children and teens with a variety of presenting concerns. I believe that the beauty of being human is that we can always continue to grow and change and I am honored to walk beside my clients and their families on that journey.
I am originally from Illinois, but I decided to move down to Texas in 2016 and have been enjoying the warmer weather ever since! I am currently completing my Master of Science in Counseling at Southern Methodist University with a focus in children and adolescents. A quote that resonates with me:Play is the highest expression of human development in childhood, for it alone is the free expression of what is in a child’s soul. -- Friedrich Froebel
