Marriage and Family Therapy Student Intern, Supervised by Mary Sanger, LMFT Supervisor, LPC Supervisor, and LCDC
Dallas, Texas Therapist Specializing in Individual Therapy (Children, Teen, and Adults), Couple's Therapy
Our roles in the world are influenced and cultivated by all the complexities of life: relationships, culture, and family history as well as our own personalities, genetics, thoughts, and experiences. Problems often stem from these influences and the many ways they have shaped a person’s life, thoughts, and self-concept. When one is blindsided by these struggles and exhausted, the ability to reach out for help can be difficult. My role is to be completely present for my clients and utilize my training to provide the support and guidance each client needs by offering a safe space with support, encouragement, and a belief in their strengths and ability to overcome the struggle they are facing.
A native Texan, I have lived in the Dallas area most of my life. I enjoy spending family time with my husband of 18 years and our three teenagers. I also enjoy watching movies and learning more about my husband’s and children’s Egyptian heritage.
Currently, as a graduate student in Southern Methodist University’s Counseling Program, I am working toward completion of my Master’s in Science of Counseling degree in marriage and family therapy. I earned my Bachelor of Science from The University of Texas at Dallas with a double major in psychology and child learning and development. My formal education and life experience have prepared me to counsel individual adults, adolescents, children, couples, and families, as well as support and assist parents and guardians. I am trained to utilize modalities such as play and activity therapies, sand tray, Child Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT), filial therapy, and Safe Conversations dialoguing techniques.
I am a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, SMU Student Counselors Association, and the SMU Play Therapy Association.
My rate is $65 for a 50-minute session. Click here to request an appointment.
A quote that resonates with me:Life is about choices. Some we regret, some we’re proud of. We are what we choose to be. -- Graham Brown
